Energy efficient lights and insulation
Thanks to an energy assessment by Emily Dondero of Freedom Energy Corporation, and the Calaveras Public Power Agency (CPPA), the Angels Camp Museum is looking into a grant that will allow us to bring our energy requirements into the 21st century. We are grateful for their support for power conscious lighting and insulation solutions for our admissions building, carriage house, and pole barn. These updated energy features will go a long way in keeping our visitors comfortable in our hot Calaveras summers. Angels Camp Farmers Market volunteers needed This summer, come on over to the Utica Park farmers market in Angels Camp every Friday from 5-dusk and meet us at our new Museum/Visitors Bureau booth! Volunteers are still needed—if you are interested in helping out give us a call at (209)-736-0049 or send an email to [email protected]. The Museum made an appearance at Frog Jump Museum staff had a blast at Fair representing the ACM and cheering on this year’s prospective Frog Jump champions. Our booth this year featured Angels Camp blacksmith and strongman of Barnum and Bailey fame, Rasmus “Big Nels” Nielson. Big Nels toured with several circus groups in the 1940s and was known for his impressive full-body tattoos. More exhibit improvements incoming As always, Chuck Schneider and Jim Miller are working on enhancing our visitor’s experiences with updates to our exhibits. Look for a new and refurbished placer gold mining exhibit in the pole barn soon!
