Angels Museum Foundation is participating in Giving Tuesday!

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

While Giving Tuesday happens every Tuesday, the annual celebration of generosity, National Day of Giving, encourages giving back on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 10 years, this idea has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity⁠⁠—to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal.

People can show their generosity in a variety of ways during Giving Tuesday—whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes, everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts.

Generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on.

The Angels Camp Museum Foundation is raising funds to reimagine the pole barn exhibits and more importantly, to bring the museum into ADA compliance so that everyone can discover our fascinating Gold Rush history in California!

Increase access and safe navigation of the large exhibit space, bringing it into ADA compliance;
Add a blacksmith shop to the three existing artisan exhibits in the Pole Barn (Wood working, Printing/Publishing, and Weaving);
Complete the extensive rework of the museum’s remarkable rock, gem and mineral exhibit; and
Enable the Museum to better showcase the extensive collection of Farming, Mining and Ranching technologies that were pioneered during the Gold Rush.

The museum is currently partially ADA compliant, and we’re raising funds to bring it into compliance. The museum has recently added a blacksmith shop adjacent to the other three artisan exhibits (woodworking, printing, weaving), showcases various artifacts from the gold rush era, and is one of the few places in California where you can find authentic artifacts from that time period. A favorite activity is the gold panning station just outside the pole barn.
