Support from major donors and our planned giving program allows us to weather the inevitable budget restraints faced by most rural cities (and the occasional pandemic) and continue to expand the important work of preserving California Gold Rush history, the rich history of Angels Camp and the families that built Calaveras County. Please join us in this vital work.
You Can Create Your Own Legacy!
History is important to you. So is making a difference. Maybe you’ve been an active supporter of the Angels Camp Museum for many years as a member or supporting one of our past campaigns. As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic different, but better, we have a momentum and fresh perspective on the future. Now that the Visitors Bureau is Co-Located at the Museum, there is a new synergy and energy in the fundraising department. Step one was re-establishing the Foundation website to the 21st Century so we can best support the growth of the museum and it’s standing as one of the premier local history and educational museums in Northern California. In addition to supporting the work of the museum through membership and cash donations, now you can consider making a planned gift.
WHAT IS PLANNED GIVING?
Simply put, “planned giving” is the transfer of assets to The Angels Camp Museum Foundation during a lifetime or as part of an estate plan. Much like the experience of donating a vehicle to a charity, you know transferring assets is easy and it can provide tax benefits as well. Win Win right? This forward-thinking approach to giving is “planned” because often these assets are not liquid, have tax consequences and are generally transferred via a will or other written means.
IT'S EASY
Planned giving is easy to do and you don’t have to be wealthy to do it. Whether it is naming The Angels Camp Museum in your will or trust for a modest amount, or a gift of house and property, there is an easy option that is right for you.
IT CAN INCLUDE ASSETS YOU MIGHT NEVER THINK OF
A life insurance policy. Real estate. Stocks. Business holdings. A checking or savings account. These are all assets that can be leveraged in planned gifts.
IT CAN PROVIDE GENEROUS TAX BENEFITS
Depending upon the type of gift, short-term and/or long-term tax benefits may apply. Donors at a variety of income levels can benefit. Be sure to consult with your financial or estate planner for more specifics.
IT IS LONG REMEMBERED AND WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE
