After a year without lectures due to the pandemic, The Angels Camp Museum Foundation is kicking off its 2021-22 lecture series (proper COVID Guidelines will be followed.) The Foundation’s Lecture Series is a labour of love between the foundation and museum historians. The series starts in October 2021 and runs through April 2022 occurring monthly on the first Sunday of each month from 2:00-3:00 pm (no January lecture.)
All lectures are held in the Angels Camp Museum Carriage House with a $10 admission fee. This season’s series features:
She's A Tractor!Rated at 110 horsepower, she was used to pull lumber and heavy logging wagons, but the interesting story is centered on the evolution of these engines.
Native son Martin Huberty returns to Calaveras County to take over the Calaveras Visitors Bureau (CVB) and becomes the new Angels Camp Museum Director. One of the Pandemic’s few positive unintended consequences was the co-location of the CVB with the Angels Camp Museum grounds from its original old town Angels Camp location. One of the first places people go when visiting the area is the Visitor’s Bureau and with the museum right there -it makes it the perfect first stop to kick off a tour of the Gold Country and the Sierra foothills.
